The documentary uses reconstruction to recreate the events within the hospital, these are shown through a camera in CCTV style, this helps set the scene for the audience in what is going on. It uses graphics to note times between doses and since the trial began, later in the doc it uses them to tell the audience what happens to patients and in the court cases.
The documentary is interview led with the assistance of graphics to share any information from interviewees that weren't taking part.

They also interview the fiancée of a participant and later use footage of them and their children, this really sends the message to a viewer how this affected the families of participants. Specifically as the same interviewee had had a cancer scare potentially cause by the drug.
It uses archive footage and images from the paper of headlines and news pieces, this shows how nation wide and even global this issue was. It was a story that changed how drug trials would be done forever.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
From this doc I have learnt how graphics can be used to assist the story telling/narrative with information that hasn't be disclosed in interviews or through voice over. I also have come to understand how interviewees can compliments each other, for example with out the Doctor interviews here the medical knowledge looses its credibility, and without the participant interviews the audience has no one that they can relate to in the story.
